Three Generations on the Canal explores, through restored photographs, the relationship of one family—the Grahams—to the New York State Barge Canal over three generations. "Toot-Toot" Graham was a tug boat captain on the Barge Canal in the 1950s. For him, the canal was his workplace. The next generation of Grahams pioneered the recreational possibilities of the Canal on a small cabin cruiser named the Ro-mar. In those days there were not many accommodations for a pleasure craft. Fuel was purchased at gas stations in the towns along the canal and hand carried to the boat in cans. The current generation of Grahams travels the full length of the recreationally-oriented canal in rented boats.

The Everson is partnering with Strathmore By The Park Home Tours, Syracuse Ceramic Guild, the Arts & Crafts Society of Central New York, and Clayscapes Pottery for the Strathmore Festival, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Adelaide Alsop Robineau's Scarab Vase. Also known as "The Apotheosis of the Toiler," the Scarab Vase was purchased by the Everson directly from the artist's husband, Samuel Robineau, in 1930 along with 47 other porcelains including her well-known Viking Vase, Poppy Vase, and Crab Vase, which are all must-sees in the Everson's ceramic collection.

The proceeds of the benefit will go towards getting bikes for refugees. There are an estimated 700 refugees coming into Syracuse every year. The CYO Refugee Resettlement Program is having a hard time providing transportation due to lack of time…and funds. We are planning on having a mass of cyclists going from the tennis courts at Barry Park at 6:00 PM through Syracuse, ending at Spark. Come ride and raise awareness! And what better way to end a bike ride then with some music, art, and beverages!

From the writer of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo comes a sidesplitting comedy of mistaken identity and harebrained schemes. Leo and Jack are two Shakespearean actors who are so down on their luck that they're playing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in Pennsylvania's Amish country. When they read about a rich old woman in York, PA, who is about to die and leave her fortune to her two, long-lost nephews, whom no one has seen since birth, they decide to high-tail it to York to impersonate the two men. It's only when they're a few minutes out of town that they realize that the nephews are in fact nieces, and that they must appear in York as Maxine and Stephanie if they're to collect the loot.

Artist John Arquette will be on hand with artwork and available for portraits drawn on site. Precious tells the story of an obese, illiterate, African-American 16-year-old named Claireece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) who lives in 1987 Harlem with her dysfunctional family. She has been raped and impregnated twice by her father and suffers constant physical and mental abuse from her unemployed mother, Mary (Mo'Nique). Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz and Paula Patton also star in the film. Immediately following the screening, Community Folk Art Center and Light Work will present a discussion to delve into the issues presented in the film.

The contestants are at each other's throats, dangerously close to ripping out one another's vocal chords, while the judges and host stir up drama to boost sagging ratings. By the time the contestants are ready to sing, the atmosphere has turned murderous, and the contestants may "knock 'em dead" in more ways than one.

The show is an interactive murder mystery that involves the members of the audience.

As part of the Syracuse Arts and Crafts Festival, The Onondaga Historical Association will host the artists, their wares and performances of the Native American Circle of Life Crafts. The crafts will include cornhusk dolls, jewelry, handmade blankets and purses, and unique gifts from The Northern Door Trading Post. Artist John Arquette will be on hand with artwork and available for portraits drawn on site. There will be performances by the Native Youth Shawl Dancers on Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1 (with vocalist Stacey Galvan of the Gunrunners, the New Onondaga Nation Band) at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the museum. Traditional Native American foods will also be available.

Fiegl's works focus on the interplay between color and form (Abstract Colorform) that has been his hallmark since the early 1980s, at one time being called the Jackson Pollock of his generation. An exhibition by Phil Austin of Snake Oil Glassworks will run throughout August. Austin is known throughout the region for his handcrafted glass bowls, vases and pumpkins. Most of his works are done in the traditional way—freehand, without a mold. All are created at his hot glass studio on Jordan Road in Skaneateles. The studio, built in 2004, houses a hot shop (where the furnace is located), a coldworking shop, and a retail store and gallery.

Austin, who earned a master of fine arts degree in the glass program at the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology, also teaches design and drawing at Onondaga Community College.

The Everson is partnering with Strathmore By The Park Home Tours, Syracuse Ceramic Guild, the Arts & Crafts Society of Central New York, and Clayscapes Pottery for the Strathmore Festival, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Adelaide Alsop Robineau's Scarab Vase. Also known as "The Apotheosis of the Toiler," the Scarab Vase was purchased by the Everson directly from the artist's husband, Samuel Robineau, in 1930 along with 47 other porcelains including her well-known Viking Vase, Poppy Vase, and Crab Vase, which are all must-sees in the Everson's ceramic collection.

From the writer of Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo comes a sidesplitting comedy of mistaken identity and harebrained schemes. Leo and Jack are two Shakespearean actors who are so down on their luck that they're playing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in Pennsylvania's Amish country. When they read about a rich old woman in York, PA, who is about to die and leave her fortune to her two, long-lost nephews, whom no one has seen since birth, they decide to high-tail it to York to impersonate the two men. It's only when they're a few minutes out of town that they realize that the nephews are in fact nieces, and that they must appear in York as Maxine and Stephanie if they're to collect the loot.
